The Merage School rallied bike riders and runners to participate in the Anti-Cancer Challenge and join in the effort to create a cancer free future. Eric Spangenberg, Merage School dean, answered the call raising $1,000 and participating as a bike rider in the event. The Merage School team as a whole raised $4,777 for the cause. Anti-Cancer Challenge proceeds go directly to lifesaving cancer research at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. As one of only 47 National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer centers, the innovative research done at UCI is developing new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
