Irvine, CA – (September 27, 2016) – Newth Morris IV, president of Telogis Route and co-founder of Telogis Navigation, is the featured speaker for the UCI Paul Merage School of Business Distinguished Speaker Series (DSS) scheduled October 19th. Presented by the Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the event will be held in the Merage School Auditorium from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Morris, Orange County Business Journal Innovator of the Year and winner of the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, will share his experiences with Telogis and the entrepreneurial journey he took which culminated in an agreement by Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) to purchase Telogis in June 2016.
Morris will be interviewed by Michael Wong, CEO and president of Genea, a leading SaaS company which provides value-enhancing services to the commercial real estate industry. Wong is the leader of the Distinguished Speaker Series committee at the Beall Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Merage School, and a personal friend of Morris. Both Wong and Morris are members of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

The Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is one of seven Centers of Excellence at the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. Under the leadership of Professor Imran Currim, Director of the Beall Center, the Center provides education and hands-on opportunities for students to learn about the process of entrepreneurship and innovation. Programs offered by the Beall Center are designed to foster understanding, experience and involvement in the process of launching and growing a business in today’s competitive environment. The Distinguished Speaker Series program highlights topics such as leadership perspectives, ethical frameworks, decision making practices, and innovation processes of top business leaders. The October 19th event will be held in the Merage School Auditorium located at 4293 Pereira Drive in Irvine. The next DSS event scheduled features David Pyott, former CEO of Allergan who will speak on March 9, 2017. The annual speaker series attracts more than 300 corporate professionals, community leaders, Merage School students and alumni, faculty members and campus staff.
