UC Irvine Paul Merage School Of Business Accounting Programs Ranked By Public Accounting Report (PAR) In First Year Of Eligibility

August 24, 2016

Irvine, CA – (August 24, 2016) –The UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business accounting programs were ranked, in several categories, among the top 25 undergraduate and master’s programs in the nation by the Public Accounting Report (PAR) in the 35th Annual Professor Survey-2016.

The Merage School Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) program, in just its first year of eligibility, was ranked 23rd in the PAR Extra report among schools with 15 or fewer full time accounting faculty. The Master’s program also ranked among the top 25 in the western region, an honor bestowed on only one other school in California.   The school’s undergraduate accounting program received recognition ranking 24th among top-ranked undergraduate accounting programs in the west.

“Our MPAc program was created in 2013 to fill a need from our students and the regional business community at large for a top-quality professional master’s in accounting program.  Only now that we are entering our fourth year of the program is it eligible for inclusion in the PAR rankings report,” said Patricia Wellmeyer, clinical assistant professor of Accounting and the director of the Merage School MPAc Program. “We are extremely pleased that in our inaugural year of eligibility, the Public Accounting Report professors survey ranked the Merage School MPAc program in several categories.  The explosive demand for our MPAc and undergraduate accounting programs and the caliber of our students are clear evidence of the high quality education our accounting students receive here at the Merage School.”

Public Accounting Report is the independent newsletter of the accounting profession since 1978 and provides competitive intelligence to accounting firm leaders at firms of all sizes.
