Merage School MBA Programs Rank Among Top 50 Nationally

Irvine, CA – (March 16, 2016) – The UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business Part-Time and Full-Time MBA programs both rose in the 2017 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings release today. The Merage School FEMBA (part-time) program climbed one spot to rank No. 36 in the nation, No. 26 among public schools. The Full-Time MBA program rose five spots to No. 48 in the nation, No. 25 among public schools.
“Amidst the host of quality indicators upon which the Merage School is positively evaluated, recruiter assessment is significantly contributing to the momentum in both the Full-Time and Part-Time programs at the Merage School,” said Eric Spangenberg, dean of The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine. “Throughout our programs, we are on the right trajectory in very competitive spaces; our graduates are evaluated very favorably by the marketplace as we are among the top places to recruit talent in southern California.”

U.S. News Rankings Methodology
The U.S. News part-time MBA ranking is based on five factors: average peer assessment score (50 percent of the overall score); average GMAT score and GRE scores of part-time MBA students entering in the fall of 2015 (15 percent); average undergraduate GP (5 percent); work experience (15 percent); and the percentage of the fall 2015 MBA enrollment that is part time (15 percent). Full-time MBA rankings involved a survey of the 470 master’s programs in business administration accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Of the 379 that responded, 129 MBA programs provided the data used to calculate rankings based on a weighted average of eight indicators: quality assessment, placement success, student selectivity, overall rank and specialty rankings.
